Venture Michigan

New quarterly magazine seeks interns for blogging, social media outreach and freelance writing projects

About the publication
Venture Michigan‘s mission is to tell the stories of Michiganbased innovators and entrepreneurs — bold thinkers and dreamers who put their ideas and dreams into action. The magazine covers emerging business trends with a focus on tech, financial and medical industries, as well as the education and non-profit sectors. Each issue features insights from investment professionals, with helpful tips for navigating Michigan’s venture capital markets. Our lifestyle features explore weekend getaways and other recreational ideas,
encouraging our readers to literally “venture Michigan” and discover the many unique destinations our state has to offer.

Aspiring writers who are interested in contributing to a blog and/or assisting with our social media outreach will have an opportunity to learn about a periodical’s production cycle and the steps involved with producing, distributing and promoting a start-up magazine. We also have opportunities for freelance contributions of feature articles. Qualified writers will work with our editor to research an assigned story, interview subjects
and deliver final copy.

At this time, internships are non-paid positions but feature story contributions are paid on a per-assignment basis.
